Johan Cruyff Institute brings together a team of professionals from the football and sports industry to contribute their expertise to Soccerex Connected

Soccerex is back on the football business scene with the second edition of Soccerex Connected from February 1-5, 2021, which will once again feature the contribution of our institution. Johan Cruyff Institute will bring together a selection of its top experts in the football and sports industry to take part in a program of content that will once again discuss current football issues and the sector’s present and future challenges.

Soccerex Connected has structured its five days around four main topics: Governance, Law and Finance (February 1); Stadium and Event Operations (February 2); Performance, Medical and Analytics (February 3); and Commercial, Marketing and Broadcast (February 4-5).

Johan Cruyff Institute will be sponsoring Day 1, with Daniel Martin and Oliver Seitz, professors of our Master in Football Business in partnership with FC Barcelona, acting as moderator and speaker on the different sessions dedicated to governance, law and finance. Daniel Martin is currently working as senior expert at Portas Consulting MEA, leading the Saudi Arabian Football Federation’s transformation project as well as supporting more broadly their other football industry projects. Oliver Seitz combines his role of lecturer with his job as senior consultant in football business for clubs and investors, advising different football organizations on strategic planning, revenue development, cost reduction and operation maximization.

Ignacio Mas-Bagà, director of our Master in Football Business in partnership with FC Barcelona and CEO of Girona FC, will speak at a round table dedicated to how teams have organized themselves to meet their competition commitments since the declaration of the pandemic and how clubs and sporting organizations can travel safely, securely and stress-free during the Covid period. The session, open only to professionals from clubs, associations, federations and members invited by Soccerex partners, is scheduled for Tuesday, February 2, from 4 pm to 4.45 pm.

Soccerex Connected will bring together professionals from the global football industry in a platform that includes presentations of all kinds, round tables, networking areas, informative sessions and interviews. Mariël Koerhuis, general manager of Johan Cruyff Institute, and Lukas Dorda, online learning manager, will also be invited in the interview section conducted by Ben Jacobs to explain how Johan Cruyff Institute is responding to the challenges of the pandemic at an institutional level and assisting its thousands of students to ensure their training is not adversely affected.

On Friday, February 5, from 12 pm to 12.30 pm, Ozana Marginean, program advisor at Johan Cruyff Institute, will offer an informative session on our entire football business program offering.

Event attendees will have access to more than 130 speakers and 22 hours of uninterrupted content throughout the five days. Students and former students of Johan Cruyff Institute will be entitled to a considerable discount that they can apply for through the virtual campus and the alumni platform.
