Álvaro Murgueitio joins Johan Cruyff Institute international network as a new agent in Colombia
Johan Cruyff Institute‘s international agent network continues to grow with the addition of Álvaro Murgueitio, managing partner of Digital Sports and Fútbol Sites, a sport and entertainment marketing agency that specializes in providing consulting services in digital communication, management and organization of sporting events, sport tourism, athletes’ image management and sport-focused social responsibility. In addition to its delegation in Colombia, the company also has offices in Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador and Miami.
Álvaro Murgueitio will have the collaboration of Felipe Castro, a professional in public accounting with a Master in Business Administration from the Prime Business School of the Sergio Arboleda University and another master’s degree in sports entity management. Felipe has professional experience in finance, strategic planning, management control, goal-based investing, project evaluation and management in private sector companies and entrepreneurial projects in sport.
Colombian sport is currently experiencing the best period in its history for several reasons: the great impact it achieved at the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro; the good performance of the national football team at the last World Cup in Brazil in 2014; their qualification for the present Russia 2018 World Cup; and the exploits of the Colombian cyclists in the World Tour road races. Following this international recognition, the Colombian government has decided to back sport as one of its economic standards and engines, with a planned investment of $169.3 million.
With the recent incorporation of Colombia, there are now 12 countries in which Johan Cruyff Institute has a representation, including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, El Salvador, Ecuador, Guatemala, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Uruguay and Venezuela.
