Today the application period opens for the third edition of The Cruyff Athlete Fund, the scholarship fund that Johan Cruyff Institute makes available for athletes
Johan Cruyff Institute today opens a new call for applications for The Cruyff Athlete Fund, a scholarship fund aimed at professional and semi-professional athletes about to retire, or already retired, who need help making the transition to management positions in the sports industry.
This will be the third edition of the program, one of the basic pillars of Johan Cruyff Institute’s CSR initiative as part of the legacy of its founder, Johan Cruyff. Candidates will be eligible for all the online master’s degrees and postgraduate diplomas in sport management, sport marketing and sponsorship, and football business offered by Johan Cruyff Institute for the 2021-2022 academic year, starting in September-October 2021. The period for submitting applications will end on May 17, 2021, and the winners will be announced on June 14.
In this academic year 2020-2021, we welcome four scholarship winners to the Online Master in Sport Management: Jennifer Hermoso, FC Barcelona and Spanish national team football player and three-time winner of the Pichichi top goalscorer trophy; Bayron Piedra, recognized as the best Ecuadorian middle and long-distance runner; Eduarda Amorim, a member of the Brazilian women’s handball team in the last three editions of the Olympic Games; and Marsha Cox, captain of the South African field hockey team.
Meanwhile, Alexia Putellas, another forward for FC Barcelona and the Spanish national team; María Pía Fernández, a Uruguayan middle-distance runner; André Jesús Camborda, a Peruvian handball player; Andrés Eduardo Díaz, a Spanish triathlon athlete; Bart Aernouts, a Belgian triathlete, and Vasileios Stefopoulos, a member of the Greek national bowling team, will all study the Postgraduate Diploma in Sport Management Online. And finally Jepi Selva, a Spanish roller hockey player, has chosen to do the Postgraduate Diploma in Sport Marketing Online.
