Students from United World Academy explore the sports industry in Barcelona with Johan Cruyff Institute

As part of an agreement with United World Academy (UWA), Johan Cruyff Institute hosted a group of Swiss students interested in the sports industry at its international headquarters

Barcelona is one of the most sports-oriented cities globally, thanks to its tradition, events, and culture. For this reason, United World Academy chose this destination to organize a study trip focused on the sports industry. Over four days, 42 teenagers participated in various activities that combined academic training with visits to the city’s emblematic facilities.

United World Academy (UWA) collaborates with international schools to offer educational, sports, and cultural experiences. From March 14 to 17, students from Institute Florimont had the opportunity to learn about some of the main sports references in Barcelona.

Johan Cruyff Institute designed a comprehensive program that included academic sessions on the sports industry and exclusive visits to iconic city facilities. Among them were the FC Barcelona Museum and the Joan Gamper Ciutat Esportiva, where students immersed themselves in the club’s history and achievements. They also enjoyed a sports afternoon at Club Natació Barcelona and toured the Olympic and Sports Museum Joan Antoni Samaranch. The combination of academic learning and practical experiences further enriched their visit.

A study trip that combined academic sessions with sports experiences

Théo Feuillade, Marketing Executive at UWA, highlighted the importance of collaboration with Johan Cruyff Institute: “We are very happy to create this alliance with Johan Cruyff Institute, a valuable partner and a reference in the sports industry. We had the opportunity to take our young students from an associated private school in Switzerland, Institute Florimont.” He also valued the students’ experience during their study trip in Barcelona: “This trip allowed them to gain an in-depth view of the professional sports world. Additionally, the students had the opportunity to discover many wonderful places and live a great cultural experience in Spain.”

United World Academy (UWA) is part of United World Group, an institution dedicated to promoting excellence in academic training. Thanks to initiatives like this, their students not only expand their knowledge of the sports industry but also develop new perspectives and skills that will serve them in their academic and professional futures.

This trip reinforces Johan Cruyff Institute‘s commitment to education and sports, providing new generations with unique learning experiences in an inspiring environment like Barcelona.
