The summit proposed three key themes to shape a sustainable future through football: Collaboration in Action, Engagement with Diverse Leaders, and Shaping Sustainability in Football. The first theme, Collaboration in Action, was central to the summit. By fostering cooperation, Football for Sustainability sought to catalyze positive change across the football arena. The second key theme, Engagement with Diverse Leaders, involved connecting influential figures from diverse fields, including sports, sustainability, business, and public policy. Finally, Shaping Sustainability in Football addressed critical issues such as climate action, social inclusion, and sustainability innovations. Participants contributed to discussions to create groups committed to sustainability.

The goal of Football for Sustainability is to bring together relevant football players and encourage them to work more collaboratively and intensively towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This event is organized by Common Goal, a charity movement that seeks to use football as a tool for change towards a more sustainable and equitable future. It was also supported by UEFA and the Deutsche Fußball-Bund (DFB).
