Johan Cruyff Institute will award two master’s degree scholarships to Ajax and PSV Eindhoven, at the Johan Cruyff Schaal
Johan Cruyff Institute maintains its commitment to professional sport and repeats its presence, for the third consecutive year, at the Dutch Super Cup, officially known as the Johan Cruyff Schaal in honor of our founder.
The match will be between Ajax FC, League and Cup winners, and PSV Eindhoven, League runners-up, on July 27 at the Johan Cruyff ArenA and will be the first official title of the 2019-20 Dutch season. It will be a strong start to the new season after both teams finished neck and neck in the Eredivisie this year.
Since the 2017 Super Cup between Vitesse and Feyenoord, Johan Cruyff Institute has wanted to be present at this event and give visibility to the legacy of Johan Cruyff’s educational initiative. On this occasion, two scholarships will be awarded, one per team, to study a master’s program, to choose between the Master in Football Business, Master in Sport Management, Master in Sport Marketing and Sponsorship and Master in Coaching.
A trophy with a social character
The Cruyff Foundation will also have an important role in the Johan Cruyff Schaal, an event known for its social character: one euro of each ticket sold will be donated to the Cruyff Foundation.
The Cruyff Foundation supports and develops sports projects for children in need, all over the world. Through sports projects for children with disabilities and projects such as the Cruyff Courts and Schoolyard14, it creates space for children. Space to grow, to make friends, to improve physical and mental health. Two schools, chosen by Ajax FC and PSV Eindhoven, will benefit from the Schoolyard14 project, which makes playgrounds an attractive place to play, giving the schools (early childhood, primary or special education) and the children the opportunity to choose the design of their own playgrounds.
