Johan Cruyff Institute will participate in SPORTBIZ EUROPE 2024, the meeting point for the sports business sector, which will celebrate its fifth edition in Barcelona from October 8 to 11
SPORTBIZ EUROPE 2024 returns to Barcelona from October 8 to 11 with Johan Cruyff Institute as Learning Partner. Over these four days, the event will bring together key players in the sports industry to share knowledge and best practices through conferences, panels, and specialized workshops
The event, organized by Good Morning Sports, a partner of Johan Cruyff Institute, will be attended by leading sports companies and brands from Europe and around the world, such as Euroleague, NBA, FIBA, ATP, WTA, F1, FIFA, UEFA, and LaLiga, as well as representatives of major soccer and basketball clubs. Patricio Baigorrotegui, co-director of Good Morning Sports, describes SPORTBIZ as “a reference and professional space, in a relaxed environment where the main players in the sports industry connect, creating an atmosphere conducive to networking, sharing knowledge, and boosting business.”
Johan Cruyff Institute will host the panel “Beyond the Physical: Mental Well-Being in Sports”, focusing on the importance of mental health in sports. The panel will bring together experts from the fields of sports, psychology, and sports management to address how athletes, coaches, and managers can improve their mental well-being both on and off the field. The panel will feature Sam Parfitt, CEO and founder of The True Athlete Project, and will take place on October 9 from 12:45 pm to 1:30 pm. The discussion will cover topics such as competitive pressure, managing emotions, work-life balance, and strategies for creating a healthy environment in high-performance sport.
Additionally, Lukas Dorda, Director of Online Programs at Johan Cruyff Institute, will participate in the panel “Connecting and Inspiring Fans: How Content is Driving Fan Engagement,” alongside Sharon Fuller, Head of Social Media and Content at NBA EME. Lukas reflects on his participation in the event, which dates back four years: “At Johan Cruyff Institute, it is an honor to support SPORTBIZ Europe for another year, a space we have been participating in since 2020. It is a key platform for debate and innovation in the sports industry. Our continued involvement reflects our commitment to educating professionals equipped to tackle the challenges of the sports sector.”
“The idea of the panel I will share with Sharon Fuller is to explore how content can be one of the main drivers of fan engagement, allowing for more authentic connections with fans. We will discuss possible intersections between sportainment and culture, and how content on social media is evolving to create more personalized and lasting fan engagement strategies.” Lukas Dorda and Sharon Fuller’s panel is scheduled for October 9 from 4:15 pm to 4:45 pm.
As Learning Partner of the event, the educational community of Johan Cruyff Institute will have special access to the event. Both current students and alumni will have the opportunity to enjoy this professional space alongside the key players of the sports industry.
