|PURPOSE||How we use the data|
As part of its academic activities, JCI collects and processes the personal data of (1) people interested in its programmes; (2) students and (3) former students. JCI shall process this data, and the data that it processes for its administrative tasks, in a fair and lawful manner, always complying with the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (“GDPR”).
JCI collects the following personal data for the purposes specified below:
How long do we retain the data?
In the case of the data that is processed as part of a contractual relationship between the data owner and JCI, the personal data will be processed for the duration of that contractual relationship and, once concluded, during the prescribed period for any legal actions that may arise in relation to compliance with or a breach of said contractual relationship. This would be the case for the data of students and workers.
In cases where the data is processed by virtue of the consent of the data owner (contact details used for marketing purposes) or by virtue of JCI’s legitimate interest, the data will be processed until that consent is withdrawn or until JCI ceases to have a legitimate interest in processing the data.
In the case of contacts who have not given us your consent to process your data for marketing purposes, your data will be automatically deleted from our systems 36 months after your request for information, provided that you have not shown any further interest in JCI’s products or services.
With regard to employment data, we will continue to process this for the duration of that relationship and, once it has concluded, for the necessary time to be held accountable for any breaches in this area. If an interview is held for any job vacancy, your personal data will be stored for a period of one year, after which, if you were not selected, it will be deleted from our systems.
|LEGITIMACY||The students’ and workers’ data is processed by JCI, for the performance of the contractual relationship. Any refusal to provide personal data in such cases may make it impossible for JCI to finalise the contract.|
We will only process your data for marketing purposes if you have given us your specific consent to do so. You will always have the option to withdraw your consent for the processing of your data for such purposes.
With regard to the processing of the data of students and former students for marketing purposes, we will process your data on the basis of JCI’s legitimate interest.
The personal data of contact people from entities will be processed on the basis of JCI’s legitimate interest.
|RECIPIENTS||Data transfers to third parties|
Notwithstanding the case described below, your personal data will not be transferred to third parties without your prior, explicit consent.
In the case of programs or courses that are taught jointly or in collaboration with third-party institutions, your personal data may be transferred and/or obtained to and/or from academic and university institutions (i.e. Hogescholen or ROC’s in the Netherlands). This transfer will have as its sole purpose the academic management.
If you request information about courses or programs that are managed somewhere in the world where JCI is present, your personal data may be transferred to our international agents. These countries may include states that do not offer an adequate level of protection. In such cases, based on article 49 (1)(b) of the GDPR, this international data transfer is necessary “for the performance of a contract between the data subject and the controller or the implementation of pre-contractual measures taken at the data subject’s request“.
