sc Heerenveen and Johan Cruyff Institute have entered into a partnership to work together on talent development to further the professionalization of sport

For example, the football players of sc Heerenveen will have better access to the study programs of Johan Cruyff Institute and, according to sc Heerenveen general director Cees Roozemond, “at sc Heerenveen there are all kinds of interesting internship and research opportunities throughout the organization, from which students of Johan Cruyff Institute and ourselves can learn a lot” because “talent development is not only important on the sports field, but off it as well.”
Both organizations will support and inspire each other in the coming period, especially in the field of sport management and coaching. The agreement offers professional players, coaches and employees of sc Heerenveen the opportunity to study programs at the Johan Cruyff Institute with discounts of up to 20%, and plenty of other opportunities for personal growth and career development. This is in line with Johan Cruyff’s legacy to offer athletes the opportunity to study, so that they can continue to work for the sports sector not only during, but also after their football career.
The Johan Cruyff Institute in Amsterdam is celebrating its 14th anniversary this year and offers study programs in sport management, sport marketing and sponsorship, football business and coaching, both online and face-to-face. sc Heerenveen is an ambitious organization and a regular team in the Eredivisie, the most important football league in the Netherlands.
