According to Edwin: “They have all been fantastic events, each with an unique atmosphere that evoked different feelings for the visitors. Being able to have a leading role in creating this gives me the right push to achieve the desired results, namely that the visitors and all the other stakeholders have a wonderful experience! In all events, no matter how big or small, this should always be the main objective.”

Each event requires a different approach, organization and structure. That’s exactly what makes event management so varied. “As a central contact person you have to be very flexible to handle the different needs,” says Edwin. “I always see that as a challenge and that makes event management so inspiring, that the organization of each event gives you the right energy to create a good result with the support of the team around you. I hope to be able to transfer that energy in the Sport Facility/Event Management Module at Johan Cruyff Institute, because that is what gives me energy.”

Paul ten Hag will be the core professor of the module and is responsible for monitoring the forum thread of the program. Until recently, Paul was the director of the Dutch Archery Federation and worked as facility manager for Nike Europe, Holec Holland and Texas Instruments. Students will learn in the upcoming edition how to design their own event action plan and will enjoy guest lectures at various sports facilities, such as Thialf, Papendal, Amsterdam ArenA and FC Vitesse.
